Bangladesh Bank has instructed that from October 1, money paid through Bangla QR be credited immediately to merchants' accounts. Banks, mobile financial service providers and payment service provider institutions have been given this instruction. In the directive issued on Thursday (September 17), it was said that currently money paid through Bangla QR takes one day to be credited to the merchant's account. Once the new rule is introduced, merchants will no longer have to wait for the money to be credited.
In addition, from October 1, the Bangla QR icon must be placed at the bottom middle of the home page of the relevant institution's mobile phone app, so that users can easily use it.

Within the same timeframe, all savings and current account customers, including cardholders, will get the facility to pay money by scanning the Bangla QR code through the app.

Bangladesh Bank has said that the goal of this initiative is to popularize Bangla QR-based digital transactions, make it easier for customers to pay money, and encourage merchants to accept digital payments.
