A presentation was made at the meeting on the activities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and its subordinate departments and agencies. At the same time, the committee was informed about various activities undertaken by the ministry under the government's 180-day program.
The committee recommended taking measures for extensive publicity in electronic, print and online media to increase publicity of ‘Notun Kuri Sports 2026-27 (Season-2)’.
It was also recommended to bring unemployed young men and women under training to keep the youth away from drugs and to organize regular sports every year at the upazila level.
Emphasizing ensuring transparency, accountability and quality control in various development projects, the committee recommended effective monitoring to prevent the use of low-quality materials in construction work.
Besides, it was recommended that the concerned Members of Parliament take initiatives in their respective areas to construct playgrounds in every union of the country as per the election manifesto and to set up biogas plants in phases.
Emphasis was also placed on following the ‘zero tolerance’ policy to ensure the safety of female athletes and prevent harassment.
Besides the committee members, the Secretary, Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, heads of various departments and agencies, and concerned officials of the National Parliament Secretariat were present at the meeting.
