A written statement has highlighted the long-standing complications over the grade review process since BADC's establishment in 1961. It said that following the long-standing demands of those concerned, an order regarding the grade review was issued through the intervention of the Prime Minister. However, the statement mentioned that the order contains some errors and inconsistencies, and efforts to correct them are ongoing.
The statement further alleged that in the past, transfer orders for BADC officials and employees were issued by exerting political influence. Later, these orders were canceled through the intervention of the Agriculture Secretary. It has also been alleged that currently some officials are trying to exert unethical influence in the organization by using the names of political and influential persons.
In addition, a senior official has been accused of being involved in transfer trading and lobbying instead of properly performing official duties. However, the persons concerned could not be reached for comment on these allegations. Therefore, an independent verification of the allegations is necessary.
Calling for prompt measures for recruitment and promotion to resolve BADC's manpower shortage, the statement said it is essential to ensure a disciplined working environment in the organization. At the same time, emphasis has been placed on making decisions based on accurate information and reality and considering the legitimate demands of officials and employees.
According to those concerned, to deliver quality seeds, fertilizer, and irrigation facilities to farmers at fair prices in time during the upcoming Boro and Rabi seasons, it is necessary to ensure BADC's administrative stability and effective management.
