All development partners support Bangladesh's development programme: Finance Minister
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that all multilateral development partner organisations have committed support to implementing the Bangladesh government's development programme. He said various development partners, including the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), are working closely with Bangladesh.

He said these things while talking to journalists on Friday, the last day of the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok. The finance minister said that during the week-long discussions, the two sides agreed in principle on various issues. To review the unresolved issues, separate teams will be formed with representatives of both sides within the next two to three weeks.

Amir Khosru said this year is important for Bangladesh. Development partners are also realising this. The current government has presented its development plans based on the election manifesto and has determined a development framework for the next five years.

The government wants to enter into a partnership framework agreement with the World Bank based on this framework. The finance minister said the government will work collectively to implement the election manifesto and the determined development framework. There has been consensus among development partners on standing beside Bangladesh and working closely with the government.

Regarding the World Bank president's closing remarks and its significance for lower-income countries, the finance minister said that in the context of the current global crisis, the support of development partners is needed to advance the development activities of countries like Bangladesh.
