At the meeting, AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju said, the July Charter contains 84 reform proposals and a seven-point commitment, many of which are consistent with BNP's 31-point demand. Yet after coming to power, the government is retreating from its promises. Out of accountability to the blood of the martyrs, the government should immediately implement this charter.
LDP Chairman Colonel (retd.) Oli Ahmed said, the Prime Minister had repeatedly promised to implement the July Charter, and honoring it is the moral duty of political leadership. On the other hand, Amir of Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Allama Mamunul Haque alleged that although BNP accepted the result of government formation, it has taken a dual stance by ignoring the referendum verdict. He warned that if the charter is not implemented, the constitutional crisis will deepen.
National Citizens Party (NCP) Chief Organizer Hasnat Abdullah MP said, running the state without the July Charter is like ‘getting into a vehicle without fitness’. If business interests are prioritized instead of public welfare by ignoring the charter, a new political crisis will be created. AB Party General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad and leaders of various levels of the party were present at the meeting.
