According to Bangladesh Bank's instructions, Durga Puja holidays will be from October 20 to 22. Then, as October 23 and 24 are Friday and Saturday weekly holidays respectively, banks will remain closed for five consecutive days.
However, to keep import-export activities running, services will continue on a limited scale at bank branches and booths in sea, land and airport areas. Banks have been instructed to take necessary measures in coordination with local administration, port and customs authorities in this regard.
As banks remain closed, trading on the country's two stock markets will also remain closed during the same period.
