Meteorologists Tariful Newaz Kabir and Dr. Abul Kalam Mallik said that, according to a warning from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), because El Niño is active in the Pacific Ocean, temperatures may remain high worldwide, and this will affect Bangladesh as well. Although light winter has already begun to be felt in the northern region of the country at night and in the early morning, overall winter this time is more likely to be relatively warm.
The WMO's recent forecast has also said that from October to December, temperatures in South Asia, including Bangladesh, may remain normal or higher than normal. Meanwhile, although the country's weather is currently mainly dry, the Department of Meteorology has said there is a possibility of a low pressure forming over the North Andaman Sea and adjoining areas within the next 5 days.
