That is why the Prime Minister has directed him to resign. He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a reception ceremony organized at the Lalmohan Upazila Auditorium in Bhola at noon on Tuesday (October 20).
The Speaker said that ministers or state ministers are accompanied by bodyguards and police, so no weapon, legal or illegal, befits their hands. However, his initiative to suppress drugs and miscreants was positive. Noting that the current head of government is following a ‘zero tolerance’ policy on the question of law and order and party discipline, he said that earlier a female Member of Parliament was also ordered to resign over allegations of occupying a hospital. Therefore, leaders and activists of the ruling party must also correct themselves.
As he was elected Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Group (APG) of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Lalmohan Upazila BNP and its affiliated organizations arranged this reception for the Speaker. Speaking at the event presided over by Jafar Iqbal, President of Lalmohan Upazila BNP, the Speaker further said that receiving this international position has further brightened Bangladesh's image abroad. At that time, he emphasized ensuring justice by establishing religious harmony and the rule of law.
