Bangladeshi workers can enter Saudi Arabia even after their Iqama expires
Due to flight disruptions, Bangladeshi workers who could not reach Saudi Arabia at the scheduled time and whose Iqama has already expired will get the opportunity to re-enter the country. Minister of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Choudhury said this in his speech as chief guest at a discussion meeting held at the BIAM Foundation Auditorium in the capital on Monday (October 27).

The minister said that when the concerned workers later go to Saudi Arabia, their entry will be completed automatically in the electronic system. At the meeting, he emphasized reducing the migration cost of workers and said that where it is possible to go abroad for Tk 3 lakh, taking Tk 7-8 lakh is inappropriate. At the same time, he said that work is underway to launch modern technology at BMET to simplify the process of going abroad and verify visas.
