Situation normal after garment workers-police clash in Mirpur
After clashes with police centering on a movement by garment workers in Mirpur of the capital, demanding that the minimum wage be set at Tk 30,000, the situation is now normal. Traffic movement on main roads, including Mirpur 10 and 11, became normal around 1 pm on Tuesday (November 3).

Earlier, in the morning, garment factory workers started protesting by taking position on the road in the Mirpur-11 area. At one stage, clashes and chase-and-counter-chase incidents took place between the protesters and police in phases. Police threw tear shells to control the situation. Due to this tense situation, MRT Police temporarily closed the Mirpur-11 metro rail station in the interest of passengers' safety.
