The post of ‘Dafadar’ of the Union Parishad has been renamed ‘Village Police Chief’ and the post of ‘Mahalladar’ has been renamed ‘Village Police’. The Local Government Division of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives has made this amendment to the rules relating to the Village Police Force. A notification in this regard was issued on 1 November.
The notification signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Atiqul Islam on the orders of the President said, ‘The Local Government (Union Parishad) Village Police Force Formation, Training, Discipline and Terms of Employment Rules, 2015’ has been further amended to introduce these new names. The notification mentioned that this order will take effect immediately.
