On Wednesday (November 4), after the first meeting of the newly formed wage board, Board Chairman Syed Azad Subhani said this. At the meeting, owners' representative A B M Shamsuddin also confirmed the matter. Amid ongoing workers' unrest, on November 1, the Ministry of Labour and Employment announced the formation of this new six-member wage board.
This board, formed under the chairmanship of Syed Azad Subhani, includes A B M Shamsuddin and Asif Ayub as representatives of the owners, and Anwar Hossain and Babul Akhtar as representatives of the workers. In addition, Professor Mosleh Uddin Ahmed of Dhaka University is a neutral member. Based on the final recommendation of this board, the government will publish the gazette of the new wage structure.
