The decision to raise the price was taken within just two days due to an increase in the price of tezabi or pure gold in the local market. Earlier, last Monday (2 November), BAJUS had also re-fixed the gold price. The organisation said that since VAT is included in the newly fixed price, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers. However, separate making charges will be added based on the design and craftsmanship of the ornaments.
In the current year 2026, BAJUS has so far adjusted gold prices a total of 132 times in the country's market. Of these, prices were increased 64 times and decreased 67 times; the remaining one time, VAT was adjusted. Earlier, in 2025, the organisation had adjusted gold prices a total of 93 times.
