Foods to avoid after eating eggs, according to experts
Eggs are a nutrient-rich food. They contain high-quality protein, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. One egg contains about 78 calories and more than 6 grams of protein. That's why eggs are a popular breakfast choice for many.

However, according to nutritionists, consuming certain foods with or immediately after eating eggs can cause digestive issues or affect the absorption of some nutrients. Although these effects are not the same for everyone and the level of scientific evidence varies, the matter may differ from person to person.

Foods that are advised to be cautious about when eating with or after eggs:

1. Banana
Many people eat eggs and bananas together for breakfast. However, according to some nutritionists, eating these two foods together may cause digestive discomfort, heaviness, or gas problems for some. If such problems occur, it is better to eat eggs and bananas at different times.

2. Cheese
Eggs and cheese are both high-protein foods. Eating them together in large amounts may cause digestive issues for some people due to excess protein and fat, and also increases total calorie intake.

3. Soy milk
Eating soy milk and eggs together may take longer to digest for some people. Additionally, some studies mention that certain compounds in soy can slightly affect the absorption of specific minerals.

4. Excessive meat
Eating a large amount of meat with eggs significantly increases the protein content of the meal. While this is generally not harmful for healthy individuals, an overly heavy meal can cause digestive discomfort. Therefore, moderate consumption is best.

5. Tea
Studies have shown that tannins in tea can slightly reduce iron absorption from food. Those with iron deficiency should avoid drinking tea immediately with eggs or other iron-rich foods, and instead drink it at least 1 to 1.5 hours later.

6. Iron supplements
Instead of taking iron tablets directly with eggs, it is better to maintain a specific time gap as advised by a doctor. This increases the likelihood of proper iron absorption.

Expert advice

Eggs are a very healthy food and safe for most people. However, if you regularly experience digestive issues, gas, or discomfort after eating eggs with certain foods, you can adjust your meal timing. At the same time, maintaining a balanced diet and consulting a nutritionist or doctor if needed is best.
