Dhaka ranks 10th in the world for air pollution on holiday
On a holiday morning, Bangladesh's capital Dhaka ranks 10th among the world's cities in terms of air pollution. According to the latest IQAir index, Dhaka's air quality is at an unhealthy level for sensitive groups.

According to IQAir data released on Friday (July 3) morning, Dhaka's Air Quality Index (AQI) score was 102. This level of air pollution is considered unhealthy for children, the elderly, and individuals with various health risks such as respiratory problems. However, air quality may vary slightly at different times of the day.

On this day, the top of the list of the world's most polluted cities was Indonesia's capital, Jakarta. The city's AQI score was 160, which falls into the 'unhealthy' category. Lahore, Pakistan, ranked second with a score of 158, and a city in the Democratic Republic of the Congo ranked third with a score of 155. The air quality in these two cities was also considered unhealthy.

Additionally, among the cities in the list with air quality at an unhealthy level for sensitive groups are Kampala (Uganda), Santiago (Chile), Cairo (Egypt), Jerusalem and Tel Aviv (Israel), Tehran (Iran), and Delhi (India).

According to IQAir standards, an AQI score of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 is moderate, and 101 to 150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. A score of 151 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and above 301 is considered hazardous to health.
