On Friday (July 3), three office bearers of an organization named 'Rashtro Sanglap Forum' filed the case. The matter came to light on Saturday (July 4).
The complaint states that the July Movement is an important chapter in Bangladesh's history, involving the sacrifices of martyrs and injured individuals. Recently, several individuals have made insulting comments and engaged in activities targeting the movement and its memory, according to the complaint.
According to the allegations, Shanta Farzana published a video on social media showing a shoe being thrown or striking the July Memorial, which is claimed to have sparked public outrage.
Additionally, the complaint against Meher Afroz Shaon alleges that she presented the July Movement as a planned or staged event in several video messages published on social media.
The case also accuses film actress Mahiya Mahi of mocking or insulting the July Movement. However, according to preliminary case information, specific details of the allegations against her have not been disclosed.
Regarding the case, it was not immediately known whether Shahbagh Police Station has initiated a formal investigation or whether any statements have been obtained from the accused.
