Trump claims 'number one' on TikTok, but data says otherwise
US President Donald Trump has claimed to be the 'number one' person on TikTok. However, according to publicly available statistics, his claim is not entirely accurate.

During a press conference at the White House, Trump said that according to newly released data, he is the most popular person on TikTok. At one point in his speech, he jokingly referred to TikTok as 'Tic Tac'.

However, the day before, in a documentary Trump released on his social media platform, he was described as the 'most followed and most viewed world leader' on TikTok. That is, the data only compared world leaders, not all TikTok users or celebrities.

The 425 billion views attributed to Trump in the report are the total view count of Trump-related hashtags and various videos. This includes views of videos from his own account as well as supportive, neutral, and critical videos created by other users. Therefore, this number is not considered a direct indicator of personal popularity.

Trump is also not at the top in terms of follower count. He currently has about 16.7 million followers on TikTok. In comparison, singer Taylor Swift has about 33.5 million followers, nearly double that of Trump.

Meanwhile, the most followed person on TikTok is content creator Khaby Lame, with over 160 million followers. Others on the top list include Charli D'Amelio and MrBeast.

During the press conference, Trump also spoke about TikTok's Chinese ownership and potential security risks. However, according to publicly available data and statistics, while he may be the most popular among world leaders, no reliable information supports the claim that he is the 'number one' among all TikTok users or celebrities.
