He said this at a press conference organized at his office in the Secretariat on Thursday morning.
The Law Minister said the Appellate Division's verdict reflects the expectations of the people. After receiving the full copy of the verdict, the government will take necessary steps to amend the constitution.
He informed that a special committee will be formed for this purpose. In amending the constitution, importance will be given to the aspirations of the people, including the July Charter.
The Minister further said that the government is committed to completing the necessary constitutional and legal processes while respecting the expectations of the people.
