On Monday (July 13), Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqi made these comments during a press conference. Shafaq News reported this information.

Ismail Baqi said the 14-point Islamabad agreement signed on June 17 was in crisis from the start. He alleged that the United States has been consistently violating various clauses of the agreement since the first day it came into effect.

He also blamed the United States for the recent tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, Washington tried to use a different route instead of using the designated safe sea lanes coordinated with Iran. Due to long-standing distrust of the United States, the agreement was structured in such a way that there would be no room for unilateral interpretation.

Highlighting Iran's position, Baqi said, "A promise in return for a promise. As long as the United States breaks its commitments, Iran will also refrain from fulfilling its responsibilities."

He further said that US military bases, installations, and logistical infrastructure used to launch attacks against Iran will be considered legitimate targets. However, he also claimed that Iran has not attacked any country in the region and has no plans to do so in the future.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that evidence of alleged crimes committed against the Iranian people will be presented on the international stage, and all avenues of international law will be pursued to bring those responsible to justice.

Meanwhile, regarding the nuclear program, Ismail Baqi said that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi will not be allowed to inspect Iran's nuclear facilities.
