Doctors advise the President to take complete rest
Specialist doctors have advised President Md. Sahabuddin to undergo advanced treatment and remain in complete rest. According to responsible sources at Bangabhaban, recent health examinations have detected signs of neurological issues along with heart disease.

It has been learned that over the past few days, the President underwent several tests including CT scans and MRIs. The reports revealed neurological complications in addition to heart disease. Previously, he had undergone bypass surgery in Singapore after being affected by heart disease. Later, he also received treatment in the UK due to physical weakness and pain in the waist and back.

Recently, as his physical illness increased, he again sought medical attention. According to Bangabhaban staff, on Thursday he also performed his regular official duties. He came to his office, signed several files, and exchanged pleasantries with officials and employees.

However, those concerned said that news published in the media about the President's possible resignation created an atmosphere of farewell at Bangabhaban. An official said that along with physical illness, the news of resignation made the President somewhat depressed. Due to serving together for a long time, an emotional atmosphere has also been created among the employees.

Sources said that the President decided to resign after consulting with doctors and discussing with family and close associates.

Earlier, in a conversation, President Md. Sahabuddin said that he had tried his best to fulfill his constitutional duties and wanted to leave office with dignity while maintaining the continuity of the constitution.
