India Seeks to Further Strengthen Ties with Bangladesh
Following the political shifts in Bangladesh in the wake of the mass student-led uprising, India has expressed its desire to advance bilateral relations after a period of stagnation. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that it is eager to work closely with the Bangladesh High Commission to deepen ties between the two neighboring nations.

Addressing a weekly press briefing on Friday (July 24), MEA Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted India's commitment to bilateral engagement.

During the briefing, a query was raised regarding Bangladesh's recent appointment of two press officers to its mission in India, who had reportedly faced allegations of past anti-India social media posts. Responding to India's position on the matter, Jaiswal confirmed that India had been officially notified of the new appointments.

"We want to take our relationship with Bangladesh forward," Jaiswal stated. "We look forward to working with the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi to further strengthen bilateral ties between our two countries."

In the same briefing, journalist Gautam Lahiri inquired whether the Indian government had been informed about reports of the US Ambassador's upcoming visit to Dhaka, and if the ministry was aware of the trip's objectives.

In response, Randhir Jaiswal stated that India possesses no information regarding the reported potential visit of the US Ambassador to Dhaka.
