Delhi's interest in Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's India visit, says High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi
India's High Commissioner to Dhaka Dinesh Trivedi has expressed Delhi's interest in a possible India visit by Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been formally invited to visit India and India is eagerly waiting to welcome him.

He said this to journalists after a courtesy meeting with Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday (July 29) afternoon.

Dinesh Trivedi informed that various aspects of Bangladesh-India bilateral relations were discussed in the meeting. Discussions were also held on culture, sports, mutual cooperation, and further strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.

He said it was a very fruitful dialogue and these discussions will help advance the relationship between the two countries.

Regarding the Teesta issue, the Indian High Commissioner said there is no problem that cannot be solved. He emphasized strengthening people-to-people contact and trust between the two countries.

Dinesh Trivedi further said that India is committed to advancing Bangladesh-India relations. The two countries share not only borders but also history, heritage, and culture. India wants to continue working to deepen and make this relationship more effective for the benefit of the people.
