Government will take initiative to present accurate history before children: Deputy Minister of Information
Deputy Minister of Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury said the government will take initiatives to deliver the accurate history of Bangladesh's independence and democracy to children. He said it is extremely important to inform the new generation about those whose sacrifices led to today's Bangladesh. However, books, writings, or films have not been produced proportionately. Work is underway from the ministry and all kinds of cooperation will be given to such initiatives.

He made these remarks today on Sunday as the chief guest at the book unveiling ceremony of writer-journalist Sabrina Shuvra's 'Listen to the Story of Shaheed Zia' and 'Beloved Khaleda Zia for Children' at the National Press Club. The publishing house 'Dashamik' organized the event.

The deputy minister further said that English translations of these books are needed for Bangladeshi children living abroad, so that they too can know the country's history. Recalling the contributions of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia, he said if history is not presented to the new generation, it will be lost in the passage of time. He also called upon everyone to remain vocal in protecting the democracy achieved through the student-mass revolution of August 5, 2024.
