SSC results published today, breaking a 20-year record

About 18.5 lakh students and their parents have spent days in extreme anxiety. Teachers and parents say they were terrified by various rumors, including a possibility of disastrous results. Educationists fear that due to the delayed results, the higher secondary admission process will be pushed back, creating a session backlog for eleventh grade students. This may also disrupt HSC exam preparation.

This year, the exams began on April 21 and ended on May 20. Although Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon announced that results would be published by July 20, that was not possible. Later, August 10 was finalized. Board officials cited excessive rain and floods as reasons for the delay, but unnamed officials hinted at complications in result coordination. However, the Dhaka board chairman denied these allegations.

According to the academic calendar, classes for eleventh grade were supposed to begin in July, but this time the result publication itself has been delayed to August. The admission process may take another one and a half to two months, so classes cannot begin before October. Educationist Professor Mojibur Rahman said that due to public examinations, students waste about one to one and a half years of time, and initiatives are needed to reduce this.
