This nomination has been made in accordance with Article 7(B)(6) of the BNP constitution and will take effect immediately.
Rizvi was given this responsibility after newly elected president Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir resigned from the post of secretary general after receiving the party nomination.
Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has been associated with BNP politics for a long time. He served as central president of Chhatra Dal and vice-president of Rajshahi University Central Students' Union (RACSU). He became BNP's senior joint secretary general in 2016.
On August 15, 2026, he was nominated as a member of BNP's national standing committee. Earlier, in the national parliamentary election of the same year, he served as member secretary of the party's election management committee.
