At 6:30 am on Saturday, he went to Manikpotal village of the upazila and visited the grave, recited Fatiha, and prayed for the acceptance of Shaheed Abdul Malek's martyrdom.
Later, the Jamaat Ameer exchanged views with family members of Shaheed Abdul Malek at the local madrasa. In a brief speech to people present at the madrasa grounds, he said that the people of the country are not well. People are suffering due to the electricity and fertilizer crisis. He alleged that although he tried to raise these sufferings of the people in Parliament, the government is not allowing him to speak.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "We have been compelled to take to the streets to realize the rights of the people." Since morning, a large number of people gathered at the madrasa grounds on the occasion of his arrival.
At that time, Jamaat's Naib-e-Amir ATM Azharul Islam, Executive Council member Principal Shahabuddin, and local leaders were present.
It may be mentioned that Shaheed Abdul Malek was martyred on August 15, 1969, in the Islamic student movement centered on Dhaka University. He was the president of the then East Pakistan Chhatra Sangha. His village home is in Manikpotal village of Dhunat Upazila in Bogura.
