Over 316,000 tons of non-urea fertilizer allocated for October
To keep fertilizer supply normal in the upcoming agricultural season, the government has allocated 316,846 metric tons of non-urea fertilizer across the country for October 2026.

On Monday (14 September), the information on this allocation was disclosed in a notification signed by Md. Rokonuzzaman, Deputy Secretary of the Fertilizer Management and Monitoring Sub-Division of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Among the allocations, DAP fertilizer has the highest amount. Its quantity is 153,190 tons. Of this, BCIC will supply 7,000 tons and BADC will supply 146,190 tons.

In addition, 93,564 tons of MOP fertilizer and 70,092 tons of TSP fertilizer have been allocated. Both MOP and TSP fertilizers will be supplied by BADC.

This allocation has been determined for 64 districts based on the demand at the upazila level of the Department of Agricultural Extension. In several districts, including Bogura, Dinajpur, Naogaon and Rangpur in the agriculture-dominant northern region, comparatively more fertilizer has been allocated.

Instructions for dealers

In the notification, several instructions have been given to dealers to ensure transparency in fertilizer distribution and sale at the fixed price. They have been asked to provide upazila-wise sub-allocations according to the allocation and to arrange fertilizer withdrawal by opening letters of credit quickly.

Government and private dealers have been instructed to deposit money by the 7th of the month. At the same time, they have been asked to ensure the sale of fertilizer to farmers at the government-fixed price.

Deputy Commissioners and Deputy Directors of the Department of Agricultural Extension have been instructed to monitor fertilizer sale prices and distribution activities. Copies of the notification have been sent to relevant offices, including BADC, BCIC, Department of Agricultural Extension and Bangladesh Fertilizer Association.
