Speaking at an event organized at FDC on Wednesday on the occasion of ‘Film Directors Day 2026’, he said that the Prime Minister has directed that a comprehensive plan be formulated for the development of the film industry. It will include what needs to be done, implementation strategies, and government cooperation.
The state minister said the government is working to increase the overall capacity of the film industry, not just to develop FDC. Necessary support will be provided for the development of this industry under the leadership of experienced directors, producers, artists and those concerned.
At the event, several individuals, including Faridur Reza Sagar, Sabina Yasmin, Masud Parvez, A J Mintu, Kazi Hayat and Delwar Jahan Jhantu, were honored for their contributions to film and culture.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Andalib Rahman, Prime Minister's Adviser on Information and Culture Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, FDC Managing Director Masuma Tani, and directors, producers, artists, crew members and journalists from the film industry were present at the event.
