Thousands of devotees and devout people from home and abroad took part in this religious assembly held on 20 September.

Speaking as chief guest at the event, Minister of Cultural Affairs Nitai Roy Chowdhury said that Thakur Anukul Chandra is a unique example of humanity, morality, education, work and service. His life philosophy guides people along the path of truth, discipline and mutual love.

The minister said that everyone, irrespective of race, religion and caste, must be united against fundamentalism, extremism and communalism. Upholding Bangladesh's pluralistic culture, a peaceful, non-communal and humane state must be built.

Regarding the security of the Hindu community, he said that during Durga Puja, leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations, by guarding puja mandaps, have played a role in creating an environment of confidence and security among the minority community.

The special guest at the religious assembly was State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam. Also present were Prime Minister's Special Assistant Bijan Kanti Sarkar, Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, and leaders from various levels.

After the religious assembly, special prayers, religious discussions and various rituals and ceremonies of the holy bathing festival were held.
