Meanwhile, Shah Ali Police Station police have arrested four people in connection with the vandalism and looting at Radda MCH-FP Centre. They are—Md. Sohel (22), Md. Jewel (23), Jihad Hasan (21) and Md. Rabbi (20).
According to police information, among the four arrested, three are floating people at Shah Ali Mazar. It is learned that they took part in the vandalism in exchange for money.
Law enforcement agencies primarily think the incident is related to land grabbing. Police are investigating who was behind the attack and why the healthcare facility was attacked under cover of darkness.
Allegations of negligence in police duties have also been raised in this incident. Questions have been raised as to why police did not take effective action even though vandalism and looting continued for several hours. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner said a three-member committee has been formed to investigate the allegations.
