Another 6 people died of dengue in the country in the last 24 hours. During this time, 2,158 people were admitted to hospital, which is the highest number of cases in a single day this year.

This information was provided in a notice on Sunday by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.

From 8am Saturday to 8am Sunday, 227 were admitted to hospital in Barishal, 345 in Chattogram, 356 in Dhaka Division, 311 in Dhaka North City, 197 in Dhaka South City, 329 in Khulna, 132 in Mymensingh, 176 in Rajshahi, 73 in Rangpur and 12 in Sylhet. During this time, 1,755 people recovered and were discharged.

According to data from the Directorate General of Health Services, in the 27 days of this September, 128 people died of dengue and 37,848 were infected. With this, the total number of deaths from dengue this year has stood at 225 and 73,694 have been infected.

Among the deaths this year, 2 were in January, 2 in February, 1 in May, 13 in June, 36 in July and 43 in August. Among the total infected, 62.4 percent are men and 37.6 percent are women.
