At the inaugural ceremony, the Minister said, good governance, transparency and making citizen services easy are the government's commitments. To that end, this digital initiative has been taken to make the house allocation process of the Department of Government Accommodation more people-friendly. By automating services instead of the manual method, allocation applicants will be able to easily know the results online, which along with reducing suffering and time will ensure transparency and accountability in the process.
According to ministry sources, after publishing the online house allocation notice on September 15, applications were accepted from September 16 to September 30. Against 54 vacant houses of various categories, a total of 596 applications were submitted. After verification, 342 applications were considered valid as they met the necessary conditions, and 254 applications were cancelled for not fulfilling the conditions.
At the event, State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahmmad Sohel Manzur, Ministry Secretary Md. Obaydur Rahman, Additional Secretary Md. Abdul Matin, and Director of the Department of Government Accommodation Md. Zahirul Islam Khan were present.
