In a statement issued on Friday, he expressed concern over the incident and said that Constable Rohit Dewan and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Imran Hossain were detained by the BSF while performing professional duties to recover drugs in the night following Thursday (October 15). He remarked that the incident is alarming for national security and contrary to the country's sovereignty.
Golam Parwar said that border guarding and law enforcement agencies must play a responsible role in protecting the dignity, rights, and mutual security of the two neighboring countries. He alleged that the behavior of the Indian side is undermining these principles, which is not acceptable.
He called on the Indian authorities to consider the matter seriously, take necessary steps, and prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future. At the same time, he demanded that the two Bangladeshi police members in BSF custody be returned to the country quickly with honor.
In the statement, Golam Parwar criticized the current government's foreign policy and said that the government must diplomatically protest to ensure respectful treatment from neighboring India and demand redress for the incident.
