On Wednesday (October 21), State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Haque said this at a biogas plant inauguration ceremony organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in an area adjacent to Link Road in Cox's Bazar.
The state minister said the programme, currently running on a small scale, will soon be expanded across the country. To encourage the setting up of biogas plants, two farmers were given loans of Tk 1.5 lakh each at the event. He also announced plans to prepare a booklet to inform the general public about the benefits of biogas and distribute it at the field level.
Md. Aminul Haque further said that training at youth development centres is being modernized in keeping with the demands of the times. New employment is being created by providing training and loans on easy terms in sectors such as artificial intelligence, freelancing, caregiving and mobile servicing. At the same time, the government also has plans to increase commercial biogas production alongside meeting their own household needs.
