He said these things in a post on his Facebook page on Thursday (October 22).
In the post, Faham writes, “During the Awami period, there was a fear that as soon as Durga Puja came, there would be trouble. Ordinary Muslims were never communal to this extent. The Awami League itself used to do this devilry, and this was their politics.” This time, he thanked the government and the country's ordinary people for celebrating the puja in a safe and joyful environment.
Addressing the Hindu community, Faham said the Awami League did not protect their interests and only used them politically. Therefore, Hindus have no reason to be unnecessarily afraid with ordinary Muslims. He further mentioned that BNP and other parties can play a role in protecting the political and economic interests of the Hindu community. Noting that the country has entered a new chapter, he emphasized religious tolerance and mutual harmony and cooperation.
