Prime Minister's Japan visit: ECNEC meeting postponed, approval of Tk 9,000 crore projects delayed
Due to Prime Minister Tareque Rahman's Japan visit, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting scheduled for Sunday (25 October) has been postponed. As a result, approval of 15 development projects involving expenditure of about Tk 9,000 crore has been delayed.

The meeting was scheduled to be held in the morning at the NEC conference room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, the capital, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Tareque Rahman. Although the government mentioned 'unavoidable reasons', sources in the Planning Commission said that the decision to postpone the meeting at the last moment was taken to facilitate preparations for the Prime Minister's Japan visit on Sunday evening and the completion of related official work.
