The government has appointed new Managing Directors (MD) and Chief Executive Officers (CEO) at state-owned Agrani and Basic Bank. Nur Mohammad, Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of private Jamuna Bank, has been appointed MD of Agrani Bank, and Md. Nurul Huda, DMD of Janata Bank, has been appointed MD of Basic Bank.
Separate notifications in this regard were issued by the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance on Monday (October 26). It said that the two newly appointed officials will serve on a contractual basis for the next three years from the date of joining.

According to the provisions of the Bank Company Act, 1991, the Ministry of Finance has sent copies of the notifications to the chairmen of the boards of directors of the two banks for taking subsequent formal steps after the appointments.
