Pakistan destroys Taliban checkpoint on Afghan border, 1 killed
The Pakistan Army has destroyed multiple Afghan Taliban checkpoints in response to an unprovoked attack on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Security sources said Pakistan launched the retaliatory operation after Taliban shelling in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan killed one civilian and injured five others.

The Deputy Commissioner of Lower South Waziristan said Afghan Taliban forces fired bullets and mortar shells at Angoor Adda bazaar and a residential area, causing casualties as well as damaging several shops. In response, the Pakistan Army took effective action and destroyed the Taliban checkpoints on the other side. Geo News reported that the military operation is ongoing and Pakistani forces are prepared to deal with such attacks in the future.
