Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station Asaduzzaman said he was arrested due to a case filed against him.

It is known that NCP leader Tarek Reza called an emergency press conference at the Family Zone Milonayoton in Jhenaidah city on Sunday evening. As soon as he reached in front of the Milonayoton around 6:30 PM, police arrested NCP leader Tarek Reza. At the time of arrest, OC of Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station Md. Asaduzzaman, along with police, a special team of plainclothes police, and members of intelligence agencies were present at the scene.
OC of Sadar Police Station Md. Asaduzzaman said, a case was filed yesterday (Saturday) against NCP leader Tarek Reza and several others on charges of assault, vandalism, and death threats. Tarek Reza, an accused in the case filed at Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station, has been arrested. Operations to arrest the other accused are also ongoing.
Incidentally, on Friday, May 22, NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari visited Jhenaidah. After Jummah prayers that day, there were clashes, scuffles, and chase and counter-chase between local Chhatra Dal leaders and activists and NCP leaders and activists. In that incident, NCP Central Joint Member Secretary Tarek Reza filed a case at Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station against 8 local Chhatra Dal leaders and activists. Following that case, the next afternoon, former District Chhatra Dal Vice President Enamul Kabir filed a case against 22 people, including Tarek Reza. Tarek Reza was arrested this evening in that case.
