Gold price rises again, up by Tk 3,324 per bhori
Gold prices have risen again in the country's market. The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has fixed the new price of 22-carat gold, increasing it by Tk 3,324 per bhori. As a result, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori, including VAT, stands at Tk 2,24,182. The new price has come into effect from 1:45 pm today, Wednesday (4 November).

The decision to raise the price was taken within just two days due to an increase in the price of tezabi or pure gold in the local market. Earlier, last Monday (2 November), BAJUS had also re-fixed the gold price. The organisation said that since VAT is included in the newly fixed price, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers. However, separate making charges will be added based on the design and craftsmanship of the ornaments.
