Ishrak Hossain made these comments in a post on social media Facebook late Tuesday (July 7) night.
In the Facebook post, he said the attack on the NCP rally is a 'black chapter' for the country's political arena. In his words, such violence can push politics towards destruction, and if politics is damaged, the country and nation will face a deep crisis. He also commented that such a situation could become a threat to the existence of independent Bangladesh.
Ishrak Hossain further said that such an attack cannot be seen as a political activity in any way. He claimed that those who were in power in the past relying on violent politics and other forces instead of public support may benefit from such incidents.
He said it is necessary to quickly neutralize these evil forces and their collaborators to ensure the country's security. Alongside this, he called for identifying those involved in the attack through an impartial investigation and bringing them to justice swiftly to ensure exemplary punishment.
