Sources said that over 1,300 former soldiers of the rank of soldier, who were dismissed or discharged, applied demanding reinstatement or retrospective promotions and other benefits.
The board formed to verify these applications, after reviewing in several phases, initially identified about 850 applications as reasonable. Later, in the first phase, around 350 applications were reviewed in detail. Based on this, the process of granting retrospective promotions or other entitled benefits to about 162 former soldiers has been completed.
Related sources said that some of the beneficiaries have already started receiving retirement-related financial benefits. Others will also be given these benefits gradually.
Meanwhile, the remaining approximately 500 applications, initially considered reasonable, are currently under review in various stages. Sources said that decisions on these will be taken gradually after verification.
Sources claim that each application has been carefully verified in multiple stages. The allegations on the basis of which the concerned members lost their jobs have also been re-examined.
Sources related to the Ministry of Defence further said that some applicants had lost their jobs due to various disciplinary and moral allegations, including drug use and adultery. Later, they also applied for reinstatement or retrospective benefits, claiming they were victims of discrimination. The source claimed that decisions in these cases were made considering the nature of the allegations, documents, and evidence.
Meanwhile, related sources said that a section of former soldiers are preparing for a movement.
Sources claim that several former soldiers who lost their jobs due to disciplinary violations or other allegations are active in this program. The source expressed concern that due to their program, the process of those whose applications have already been positively considered or who are awaiting benefits may also be affected.
