Awami League's political end has happened in Delhi: Sarjis
Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the northern region of the National Citizen Committee (NCP), said the Awami League is a 'murderous authoritarian party' that fled the country after committing genocide. He claims the party's political end has also occurred in Delhi, which is cited as its birthplace.

He made these remarks at a rally organized on the occasion of the 'July March' in Chatmohar, Pabna, on Thursday (July 9) night.

Sarjis Alam said, “Where the Awami League was born, there they have been buried. No party from Delhi can represent the people of Bangladesh. The sovereignty of Bangladesh cannot be safe with such a party either. Therefore, the people must choose a pro-Bangladesh political force.”

He said that over the past 16 years, the country's administration had been politicized. However, in the end, that administration could not protect Sheikh Hasina. Calling for the administration and police to be built as institutions of the people, he said these forces must become symbols of the country's sovereignty and the interests of the people.

Criticizing the current system of the country, Sarjis Alam said ordinary people have to rely on brokers, lobbying, and money to get services. Such a system is not compatible with an independent and welfare-oriented state.

Regarding the allegations of embezzlement against the NCP, he said although allegations of embezzling thousands of crores of taka have been made against the party's leaders, no evidence has been presented in support of this. He claimed these allegations are political propaganda.

He further said that in the upcoming elections, instead of the identity of an individual or party, one should vote considering who is honest, who is against injustice, and who does not condone extortion and drugs. If the NCP cannot meet those standards, he also called for not voting for them.

At the rally, NCP Joint Member Secretary SM Saif Mostafiz said the country's youth are no longer afraid of the political threats of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. At the same time, he alleged that even after the fall of the Awami League, the fascist structure has not been completely broken, and attempts are being made to abuse power anew.

At the rally organized by the Pabna district branch of the National Citizen Committee, speeches were also given by NCP Joint Convener Sarwar Tushar, Rajshahi Divisional Organizing Secretary Imran Emon, July Movement coordinator Barkatullah Fahad, and Chatmohar Upazila NCP Member Secretary Khairul Islam.

After the rally, the name of district NCP convener Khandaker Akhtar Hossain Lebu was announced as the mayoral candidate for the Chatmohar municipality election. Earlier, party activists marched from Chatmohar Government College gate to the rally venue.
