Despite the fall of fascism, the goals of the youth remain unfulfilled: Charmonai Pir
The Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and Charmonai Pir, Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, said that although fascism has fallen, the goals for which the younger generation participated in the 2024 movement have not yet been achieved.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at a discussion meeting titled 'July in the Spirit of Dictatorship Resistance Day' organized by Islami Jubo Andolan Bangladesh at the National Press Club on Sunday (July 19).

Rezaul Karim said that after the July mass uprising and every past movement and uprising, the country has fallen into the hands of forces for whom Islam, the country, and humanity were not safe. He called for learning from history and working to establish Islam in state power with the aim of changing the country's destiny.

He said, 'The nation has had to face disappointment because of repeatedly making mistakes like leasing a chicken to a fox. Governance based on Islamic Sharia is the true ideal system of governance.'

The Charmonai Pir further said that during the 2024 movement, leaders and activists of Islami Jubo Andolan were active on the streets despite risking their political existence. He claimed that he himself participated in their rallies and processions in the Baitul Mukarram area and that day they came under fire from law enforcement forces.

He said, 'I said that very day, no matter how powerful it is, fascism will fall. Today, that fall has happened.'

The meeting, chaired by the central president of Islami Jubo Andolan Bangladesh, Atiqur Rahman Mujahid, was addressed by special guests including Presidium member of Islami Andolan, Principal Mosaddeq Billah Al Madani, General Secretary Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman, Joint General Secretary Maulana Muhammad Nesar Uddin, Assistant General Secretary K M Atiqur Rahman, and the organization's Secretary General Mufti Mansur Ahmad Saki, among other leaders.

In his presidential speech, Atiqur Rahman Mujahid said the July movement proved that it is impossible to remain in power by ignoring the opinions of the country's youth. He demanded the swift implementation of the July Charter and the opening of the July Museum to the general public.
