On Sunday (July 19) at 11:30 AM, Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar handed over the letter on behalf of the opposition leader to Turkish Ambassador Ramis Sen at the Turkish embassy in Dhaka.
In the letter, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman expressed deep respect and solidarity for President Erdogan's strong leadership during the failed coup attempt in Turkey on July 15, 2016, and the unified role of the Turkish people in protecting democracy and state sovereignty.
Additionally, Turkey's progress under President Erdogan's leadership in technology, economy, industrial development, self-reliance, and establishing peace, stability, and cooperation in the Muslim world was praised. At the same time, a commitment was expressed to further strengthen and diversify the existing fraternal relations between Bangladesh and Turkey.
After handing over the letter, Turkish Ambassador Ramis Sen showed Mia Golam Parwar the photographic exhibition organized at the embassy on the occasion of 'July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day'. During this time, he highlighted various historical moments of the failed coup attempt in 2016, the resistance of the Turkish people in protecting democracy, and various aspects of their sacrifice.
At that time, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman's foreign affairs adviser Barrister Mir Ahmed Bin Kashem Arman, MP, and Jamaat's foreign affairs committee member Ali Ahsan Mabroor were present.
During the meeting, cordial discussions were held on various issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and Turkey. Additionally, hope was expressed that the existing friendly relations between the two fraternal countries will be further expanded in the future.
