International conference begins to accelerate foreign investment for employment and prosperity
An international conference and investors expo titled 'FICCI FDI Conference-2026: Driving Foreign Investment for Jobs and Prosperity in Bangladesh' has begun in the capital with the aim of creating employment and increasing foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country's economy.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman attended the inaugural event of this conference held on Thursday (July 23) morning at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) premises in the capital. Before the main session, he visited the Investors Expo and exchanged views with local and foreign investors and representatives of participating organizations.

The organizer, Foreign Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), stated that this international conference has been organized with the aim of attracting more foreign investment to Bangladesh in the post-LDC graduation period.

Around 600 representatives from home and abroad are participating in the conference. Those present include high-level government officials, policymakers, diplomats, development partners, top executives of multinational companies, investors, business leaders, and media personnel.

The 'FICCI FDI Report' was published at the event. The report highlights various recommendations to improve Bangladesh's investment environment, ease business operations, enhance competitive capacity, and accelerate sustainable economic growth.

Detailed discussions are underway at the conference on existing opportunities and challenges of foreign investment, formulation of investment-friendly policies, and the contribution of multinational companies to the country's economy.
