Khelafat Majlis Quits Jamaat-Led 11-Party Alliance
Khelafat Majlis has officially announced its withdrawal from the 11-party electoral alliance led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. The decision was disclosed on Saturday (July 25) morning following a meeting of the party's Majlis-e-Shura at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) auditorium in Kakrail, Dhaka.

According to party leaders, the 11-party coalition was fundamentally forged as an electoral understanding. With the conclusion of the elections, the functional utility of that alliance has expired. Although the party had participated in a few subsequent joint programs, Khelafat Majlis will henceforth abstain from all activities associated with the 11-party alliance.

The leaders emphasized that their efforts to build a broader national unity—dedicated to the greater interests of the country, the nation, and Islam—will continue. Furthermore, Khelafat Majlis lawmaker Mufti Abul Hasan will assume an active opposition role in the National Parliament.

The Shura meeting was presided over by the party’s Ameer, Maulana Abdul Basit Azad, and moderated by Secretary General Dr. Ahmad Abdul Quader, with several central leaders in attendance.

During the meeting, Khelafat Majlis leaders sharply criticized the government, alleging that it had formed a special committee for constitutional amendments by bypassing the 'July Charter' and the definitive mandate of the recent referendum. They demanded the immediate formation of a Constitutional Reform Council, aligned with the public verdict, to ensure the comprehensive implementation of the July Charter.

Additionally, the party leadership urged the government to expedite the judicial proceedings for various high-profile killings, explicitly highlighting the massacres surrounding the July uprising and the Shapla Chattar incidents.
