Jamaat blames government's 'inefficiency' for severe gridlock suffering
Jamaat-e-Islami has blamed the government's inefficiency and mismanagement for the severe suffering caused by a nearly 50-kilometer-long traffic jam on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.

On Saturday (August 29), the party's media wing said the traffic jam that started Friday afternoon stretched from Sonargaon to Madhaiya of Chandina in Comilla.

Jamaat claimed that although repair work on a bridge in the Sonargaon area had begun, no alternative arrangement for vehicle movement was made. As a result, thousands of passengers, women, children, elderly and sick patients have suffered.

The party further said that as trucks, buses and various other vehicles remain stuck for hours, a huge number of working hours are being wasted and businessmen are also facing financial losses.
