Target to register companies in a few hours, RJSC transforming on Singapore model
The government has taken initiatives to reduce delays in company registration and make the entire process online. In line with Singapore, an 'Electronic Business Registration System' is being introduced at the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms. Once fully operational, entrepreneurs will be able to complete everything from name clearance to registration from home.

The progress of this initiative was presented at a meeting on RJSC modernization at the Ministry of Commerce on Monday. Commerce Minister Khondker Abdul Mutadir was the chief guest at the meeting.

In the new system, information from national identity cards, e-TIN and mobile numbers will be verified online. For memorandum and articles of association, three types of arrangements—model, customized and pre-approved—are being kept. This will make the registration process faster and easier.

The user acceptance test of the registration module has already been completed. Work on establishing connections with the databases of the Election Commission, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission and Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited is also progressing.

According to the plan, during the initial six months, if the required information and documents are correct, the goal is to complete company registration within a few hours through quick verification by officials. The software is scheduled to be finally transformed and handed over by 15 January 2027.

The government hopes that if this initiative is implemented, besides reducing time and costs for entrepreneurs, transparency, accountability and an investment-friendly environment in company registration will be further strengthened.
