Gazette of 9th Pay Scale today or tomorrow
The government has approved the proposed 9th National Pay Scale for government employees. Cabinet Secretary Dr. Nasimul Ghani said the gazette of the new pay structure may be published on Wednesday (2 September) or Thursday (3 September).

He said the Finance Division will issue an order in this regard very soon. After the order is published, the details of the new pay structure will be known.

Earlier, on Monday, the proposal for the 9th pay scale was approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tareq Rahman. In line with the new structure, the proposal for the 'Joint Forces Instructions 2026' for the armed forces was also approved.

According to Finance Ministry information, the new pay structure will take effect from 1 July 2026. The existing 20 grades for government employees will remain. However, the basic pay of each grade has been revised.

According to the approved structure, the initial basic pay in the 20th grade has been fixed at Tk 20,000, and the maximum basic pay in the 1st grade has been fixed at Tk 1,56,000.

After the Finance Division order is issued, detailed information on grade-wise pay, other benefits and implementation will be known.
